Everyday I step out my door, and log onto the internet I see acts of bravery. From the smallest thing to the greatest sacrifices. These acts of bravery are all around me, shown by the closest people around me to complete strangers. Everyone can be brave in their own right. It can be as simple as talking to someone to make a new friend, stepping out your door to face a new day, or sticking up for someone even they don't know you are. It can be life risking acts that our soldiers make everyday. It can be admitting to the world (or just those around you) of your life choices, it can be telling someone you love them. You can stand up for peoples rights even though they don't know you, but in their hearts they'll still thank you. It can be having a family when those around you think you shouldn't. It can be holding someones hand to support them or lead them out of emotional darkness. Sometimes it can be as simple and as hard as waking up moving on every morning (night).
I look at every act of bravery I see and hope that I can take that into my own daily life. I hope others can see my bravery and be inspired. I hope you all can step up and show your bravery, because you'll never know who it may encourage.
With 2014 on the horizon take a little bravery in your heart and walk tall. Help those in need around you. Be positive about those who you may never meet. We all deserve each other's bravery and support.
Hey everyone, so I'm 29 1/2 years old, I've been a lover of all things Japanese pretty much my whole life (ask my family), in fact my parents are convinced my soul is from Japan. Okay! I have a point I promise. I've decided that for my 35th birthday I am taking a month of my life to go explore the homeland of my soul. :) I figure 5 1/2 years would be long enough to save monies, learn the language, and do LOTS of research before heading out! I'm hoping that some of my close buddies will be able to join me, but gosh darn it if I have to go alone I will. >.< For anyone that gives me gifts on gift giving occasions, funds for my trip, or books for research would be greatly appreciated!
I'm very excited to be finally stepping into this venture. It has been a long time waiting, and I'm sure the 5 years will fly by as I learn the language and study hard. I'll be updating on my preparation so stay tuned! Thank you for all the support and good lucks!
Have a Happy New Year everyone! Be safe and have fun!
"But what I hope most of all is that you understand what I mean when I tell you that, even though I do not know you, and even though I may never meet you, laugh with you, cry with you, or kiss you, I love you. With all my heart, I love you." Valerie - V for Vendetta - I start my blog (which yes I know I'm terrible at posting on, I try) with this quote from V for Vendetta because it is the first thing that came into my head last night when I read some Facebook posts about a young man that recently took his own life because he felt like he wasn't worth anything due to online bullying. Bullying has never been, and never will be okay no matter the subject that is being bullied. You never know what that person has going on in their life. It shouldn't matter what someones gender, race, color, hobbies, or sexual preference are. It shouldn't matter if they're short, tall, fat, skinny, glasses wearing, deformed in any way, etc. Bullying is NEVER okay. Some may think that it is sometimes justified, but it's not, not ever. It breaks my heart every time I hear about someone who has commit suicide. Whether it is due to bullying or not, it's a hear breaking subject, because someone out there felt like their life wasn't worth continuing on. If you know someone out there that is struggling with self worth for any reason please reach out to them and remind them that they are worth something. If you encounter bullying online, in the halls at school, at the mall, or anywhere. Please don't be afraid to step up for that person even if you don't know them. I wish you all a good day, good luck, and Happy Holidays. And remember that I may never meet you, laugh with you, cry with you, or kiss you, I love you. -The Natchan
Hey all! Long time no hear again...I know I say that almost every time. I'm sorry. I'm trying to get better at this, but I have a lot on my plate that is life. Anywho! Moving along to the title of this blog. Fannatiku Fest 2013 was last weekend! Woohoo 2013 and now 2014 already in the works. We had a bumpy year, but it was still a really good time! We had some awesome people come out and join us this past weekend including: Precious Cosplay , Chad Hardin , Rufus' Maid Cafe , and JUPITER. We had a couple of new events along with the usual favorites!
Sadly we did suffer a financial blow. Some one (we don't know who) stole the one piece of equipment we were renting from the Hotel. A very nice, very expensive LCD Projector. We've started a fund raiser to help replace it. Please take a look. Projector Fund Raiser
For those of you that attended the convention thank you so much for your support. For those of you that have yet to attend we hope to see you next year! Make sure to keep an eye out on our website for updates and contests! Fannatiku Fest
Thank you again for all of your support! We wouldn't be a convention without you!
recent disasters, reports, the presidential election, etc. I've got to
thinking about humanity in general. I'm not getting after people or
talking down to anyone. I just want to put this out there and remind
people that we're all human. We're of the some race no matter what
color, size, language, etc. We shouldn't be separated in anyway shape or
form. We should be willing to help others and hope that they would do
the same for us. We should say "Hello" and smile to strangers, you never
know it might make their day. Help people out. Guard their back. Stop
being judgmental and accept everyone for who they are. White, Black,
Gay, Straight, Tall, Short, Large, Small, Old, Young, etc...we're all
people. I think we should band together, not tear each other apart...or
eventually....there won't even be people left to persecute. Unity for
Humanity. Think about it. Thank you. I'll put away my soap box now. :)
Hey everyone! So the first Hobbit Movie comes out exactly 5 months from today. Am I excited? Oh you bet I am! I only wish that I could have gone to Comic Con this weekend to see all the awesome stuff. T^T Life size Trolls. Anywho! I'm trying to hopefully pull together a hobbit costume for the premier, but we'll see what happens. I would love to get a day or two off ahead and throw a line party, but its cold where I live. Brrr
It's still hard for me to believe that its been 11 years since the Fellowship came out. I remember the same kind of excitement then to.
A whole lot has been going on, but really too much to blog about. Sorry. ^^; Just wanted to give a small update.
Next Con is SabotenCon in Phoenix AZ. I've never been so this should be interesting. Saboten Con
We originally were going to have an art table (Me & Jess) but they never got back to me. :( Oh well. Just attending will be fun.
